The business world and in fact all aspects of our lives have suffered many changes in the last years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What is required from a leader today is very different from what was required ten years ago.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, most leaders are still operating in \u2018past mode\u2019<\/strong> and waiting for the \u2018storm\u2019 to calm down<\/strong>, not\u00a0realizing\u00a0that times have irreversibly changed and that the first and most important thing they have to do is to\u00a0change their own\u00a0behaviors\u00a0and beliefs right now.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Accepting that the markets and technology are ever changing due to unpredictable variables is the basis,<\/strong> and so\u00a0you have to develop your capabilities for dealing with change. Your mindset also needs to adapt to the new era\u00a0and start operating in the<\/strong> \u2018Me, Inc\u2019<\/strong> mode is the beginning of the journey.<\/p>\n

This means that the way to catch up with today\u2019s reality is to work on yourself,<\/strong> the only factor you can really\u00a0master and control.<\/p>\n

After working on myself with the help of great masters, I now see it as my mission to support others to thrive in\u00a0the midst of change.<\/strong><\/p>\n

First we take a reality check<\/strong> to become aware of where you are and gain clarity over where you want to be.\u00a0Many leaders have been taken in the flood of events and circumstances and have spent the last years in reaction\u00a0mode instead of action mode.<\/strong> A leader needs to have self-awareness<\/strong> and be able to recognize and master his\/her emotions<\/strong> while dealing and responding in the best way to other people’s emotions.<\/p>\n

The second step is to work on your values.<\/strong> A leader must be clear about his\/her values.\u00a0Many people fail\u00a0in leadership positions because the company\u2019s values were not aligned with their own.<\/strong> Those who don’t fail\u00a0completely are sure to develop stress and frustration with serious impact in all areas of their lives.<\/p>\n

The third step is to acknowledge your strengths and build upon them.<\/strong> Leadership starts from within and then it\u00a0requires communication of the vision, a plan with priorities, and most of all ACTION followed by the evaluation\u00a0of results and course correction.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finally we encourage the great habit of challenging your own assumptions and answers, and empowering your\u00a0team by welcoming the input of each member.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With\u00a0globalization\u00a0and economic downturn leaders need to sail in the rough ever changing waters and to keep\u00a0ahead of the game.<\/strong> Thinking outside the box and challenging yourself and others will give you a competitive\u00a0edge that will ensure the success of your business.<\/p>\n
