{"id":789,"date":"2013-03-28T19:42:38","date_gmt":"2013-03-28T19:42:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.success-academy.org\/home\/?p=789"},"modified":"2013-03-28T19:42:38","modified_gmt":"2013-03-28T19:42:38","slug":"who-wants-to-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.success-academy.org\/home\/who-wants-to-play\/","title":{"rendered":"Who wants to play?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWe do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.\u201d\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Franklin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Playing is at the same time a great way to relax and one of the best ways to activate the body and the brain.<\/p>\n<p>Children need play time because while they are climbing up a tree, running after a ball, fighting imaginary\u00a0monsters, playing doctors or even videogames they are <strong>exercising their brains and bodies for the challenges of\u00a0adulthood.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Playgrounds in parks or pet zoos are both<strong> healthy and educational,<\/strong> and the interaction with other children and\u00a0animals will teach them how to <strong>regulate their emotions,<\/strong> a skill that will serve them well as they grow up.<\/p>\n<p>Many studies have proved that the best way to learn is through play and games.<br \/>\nPlaying fosters cooperation with others within a set of simple or more sophisticated rules. <strong>Loosing fair and square\u00a0is a valuable lesson that will be an incentive for improvement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sharing laughter and fun with others promotes <strong>bonding and empathy,<\/strong> thus increasing the emotional intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Many of us (especially those with grown up children) have stopped playing.<br \/>\n\u2018Others\u2019 spend their leisure time in front of the TV or in Shopping Malls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>However, everything that was said also applies to adults.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>We spend most of our time at work. <strong>Today business life is overwhelming and full of stress, so we go home feeling\u00a0irritated and tired.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Modern companies have been trying to reverse this problem by creating pleasant work environments,<\/strong> sponsoring\u00a0health club fees and supplying \u2018playrooms\u2019 for their staff to recharge batteries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.success-academy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Google-Headquarters-in-Zurich.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-790\" alt=\"Google-Headquarters-in-Zurich\" src=\"http:\/\/www.success-academy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Google-Headquarters-in-Zurich-300x214.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.success-academy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Google-Headquarters-in-Zurich-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.success-academy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Google-Headquarters-in-Zurich.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/about\/jobs\/locations\/zurich\/\">http:\/\/www.google.com\/about\/jobs\/locations\/zurich\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Google\u2019s office in Zurich is a great example<\/strong> \u2013 \u2018Our office has a different design theme on each floor, massage\u00a0stations and restaurant-quality food.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>In today\u2019s world <strong>creativity<\/strong> is the most precious asset in any business but it will never flourish with chronically\u00a0overwhelmed and burned out staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em id=\"__mceDel\">So taking the time to replenish yourself through play is really a win-win situation that will improve your health, your\u00a0relationships and your career.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWe do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.\u201d\u00a0Benjamin Franklin Playing is at the same time a great way to relax and one of the best ways to activate the body and the brain.
