We live in the era of entrepreneurship.
\nSmall and medium companies represent, depending on the country 90% to 98% of the players in the market and\u00a0yet only a small percentage survives!<\/p>\n

It is very important that we understand what it takes to succeed as an Entrepreneur to make sure that we are one\u00a0of the 5-10% of survivors.<\/p>\n

The first golden rule is not to be a technician with an entrepreneurial seizure (as Michael Gerber calls it) because\u00a0running a company takes a lot more than technical ability.
\nIf you don\u2019t possess the necessary people skills and management knowledge and skills it is very important that\u00a0you seek the right training and get the help of qualified professionals.
\nDo not neglect legal aspects and contingency plans\u2026<\/p>\n

To succeed you also need to follow your passion, know what you want and where you want to be in 5 years\u2019 time.
\nThen you need to plan accordingly and divide the plan in actionable steps.
\nMake sure you have the money necessary plus some more \u2013 lack of cash flow is one of the major causes for\u00a0businesses to fail.
\nRemember it is all about the customer \u2013 it doesn\u2019t matter what you think is best, you must anticipate your current\u00a0and future clients\u2019 needs and strive to always over-deliver.<\/p>\n

Surround yourself with a top team \u2013 not the most intelligent or most knowledgeable necessarily, but the ones who\u00a0will share your passion and your vision for the business.
\nGet to know your customers personally or through social media and never stop listening to them. Foster a\u00a0relationship that will keep them coming back for more.<\/p>\n

Keep-up with technology. Use it wisely and always perform a cost-benefit analysis.
\nInvest in training for yourself and your team.
\nBe consistent and reliable. Build a reputation for yourself and a brand for the business.<\/p>\n

Surprise your customers.
\nInnovate, show them the benefits and involve them in making your products and services better.<\/p>\n

Do not micromanage.
\nSet up the systems, train your staff and let them fly.
\nFollow-up continuously\u2026
\nMeasure everything against the Plan and adjust it whenever is necessary.<\/p>\n

Look after your health and the health of your team.
\nIncentivize sports, networking and \u2018family time\u2019.<\/p>\n

Evolve and adapt.
